Advisory body launches regular symposium on improving business environment
China has created a promising new channel for foreign companies to influence policy.
On Friday, the political advisory body (CPPCC) held its first bi-weekly consultative symposium on improving the business environment.
The symposium's goal is to "promote the construction of a rule-based business environment," with participants including:
- National CPPCC delegates
- Experts and academics
- Representatives from law enforcement and administrative departments of the government
The symposiums will discuss proposals for:
- New legislation
- Law-enforcement practices
- Justice interpretation and processes
- Legal services for businesses
Get smart: MNCs should consider mapping out and engaging with symposium participants linked to their sectors or issues – as these individuals may be able to significantly influence the policy discourse.
