China’s exports beat expectations, but imports are sluggish

China’s exports rebounded in May.
Per data released by the customs bureau (GAC) on Friday:

Exports surged by 7.6% y/y in May, up from 1.5% growth the previous month
Imports crept up by 1.8% y/y, down from 8.4% growth in April
May's trade surplus was USD 82.6 billion, up 26.8% y/y
